Weekly blog 2/27/15

This week I learned how the rock cycle works and I learned about minerals and how you find out what kind of mineral it is. I did a master mines game where I look for minerals and test them on their  streak, color, hardness, conductivity, density, luster, cleavage, and structure.

One thing that surprised me this week is that in the master mines game there were a lot of minerals to find. This surprised me because I wondering how I was going to finish discovering all of them in time to turn it in.

I didn't know anything on the rock cycle before but I knew more about rocks and minerals in 2nd grade. I did not know that there was a rock cycle before and I didn't know what it was about. I knew that minerals come in every shape and size and that diamond was the hardest mineral that I know.

What was frustrating about my work this week is that there were a lot of minerals to discover on master mines. I found this frustrating because I had a lot of work to do. I did a lot but the master mines game didn't save my progress so I needed to do the whole thing over again.

If I were the teacher I would give myself a B+ because I didn't do all of the minerals but I did all of the questions. But if I didn't answer all of the questions I would give myself a C+ because without the questions it would be a lower grade.

For the next week I would like to give myself a goal and I think it would be getting to know other people in my class. I want to set this goal for myself because I don't know may people in my class but I know a lot more people in the other class.
