Weekly blog 3/27/15

When I was surprised I was getting my notebook out Something that surprised me this week is that we were doing a lot of experiments. This surprised me because we don't do experiments that much during the year. I can learn from this surprise by expecting more experiments.

This week we learned about circuits and how there are more than one kind of them. There are parallel and series circuits. I think that series circuits are easier to make than parallel circuits because parallel circuits have something in the middle of them.

This week some materials I used were batteries, light bulbs, wires, and a battery holder. I used these materials this week because I was using them to make parrellel and series circuts.

The parts I like about my work this week is the worksheets and the experiments. The parts I don't like about my work this week is the diagrams because the're a little bit confusing. I think the're confusing because I can't really tell witch one is witch.

If I were the teacher a few comments I would give myself is that my work doesn't have to be that long or that short when I'm doing my paragraphs. I would give myself that comment because I wouldn't have that much space for five paragraphs and I would have to much room on my paper.

A goal I would like to set for myself is to pay more atteintion and to make sure I turn things in. I would set this goal for myself so I don't have late work and so I know what to do on an assignment. I would make sure that I don't have any zeros by turning in all my work and paying atteintion.

Weekly blog 3/20/15

From what information I've gathered tools I would use to make an electro magnet are a D battery, a wire, and a nail.I would choose a D battery because big batteries have a lot of energy so I can use the electro magnet for a long time. I would also choose a wire because I need to coil the wire around the nail to make a circuit and its easy to wrap it around the nail. I would choose a big nail so then I could pick up more than one thing at a time.

Weekly blog 3/13/15

Something that surprised me this week is that we were learning about magnets. This surprised me because I already learned about magnets in 4th grade but I don't know if Mrs. Garcia did it in 4th grade. 

This week we were learning about magnets and how they can connect with other magnets. We are also learning about how we can make an electro magnet and what would happen if we put the wire on the battery for a long time. One more thing we were learning about is how magnets work and how they can connect together.

In 4th grade I have done the same experiment on creating an electro magnet but a little different. Instead of a magnet we were making energy for a light bulb and the only thing different is that we didn't have to coil the wire around a nail. We also didn't need paper clips to use with the experiment.

What was frustrating about my work this week is that I needed to do a lot of writing and finishing work sheets. Another thing that was frustrating about my work this week is that I needed to make sure that I turn in the things I am supposed to turn in.

A grade I would give myself is a B because I did good and bad. A good thing I did was follow instructions and a bad thing I did was not paying attiention. If I did both of those right I would give myself an A for a grade.

An assignment I would show the teacher is my pet mineral because it shows how I work and how long I do it for. I would also show her my endangered animal project to show her how I learn and work. One more thing I would show her my assignment were I have too make a slide explaining why we need to save the rainforest and its animals because its one of my favorite project.

Weekly blog 3/4/15

What surprised me this week was that in both computer science and science we are using a new website called jilster. Jilster is a website were you can make magazines and upload pictures to use in the magazine. This surprised me because we don't usually use websites in these classes.

This week I made a magazine that is about a garnet called Spessartine or Spessartite. I need to put its Description, physical features,(colors), (luster), (density), (chemical composition), (hardness), (conductivity), (streak), (cleavage/fracture), and (mineral structure).More things we need to do is What varieties of this pet exist?, Where is it abundantly found?, By what means do you aquire it?, How is your pet formed?, What are the uses for your pet?,sharenteresting or unique features of the mineral?.


I think I need to improve by making sure I concentrate on doing my work and not talking to others and not write to much. I also want to make sure that I don't go to websites that are not things that I am supposed to do. One more thing I need to improve upon is to not pay attiention to more than one thing for a long time so I can get my work done.


What was most satisfying about my work this week is that I was doing my best for the Jilster magazine. I also like that I am doing my best with the rest of my work during the rest of the week and that I tried doing my my work the whole week. I am also satisfyed that I am trying my best and I don't have an F on any assignments.


If I were a teacher I a comment I would give myself is that I would need to make sure I get my work done more quickly because I didn't do that much of my Jilster magazine. Another comment I would give myself is that I need to work on my focus because I don't really pay atteintion that much.


Something that I might want more help on is to pay more atteintion in class and when people are speaking to me. I want to improve on these 2 things because I don't want low grades because I am not paying atteintion and I don't people thinking I am ignoring them on purpose. One more thing I would like to improve upon is to focus on everything and not just one thing so I can do all my work and not just one small part of it.
